A young Utah man suspected of murdering important conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Orem University was in custody on Friday, Juta Governor Spencer Cox told reporters. “We got it,” Cox told reporters.
The suspect, recognized as Tyler Robinson, had confessed to a family friend – or “implied that he had committed the murder” to this friend – and this person in turn contacted Washington’s Sheriff County office on Thursday.
A family member who interviewed researchers said Robinson had become more political recently and spoke in a frustrating way about Kirk, Cox told reporters. Robinson was detained on Thursday night, about 33 hours after Kirk’s murder, FBI director Kash Patel told a press conference.

Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, was killed by a single bullet as he spoke on stage at an outdoor amphitheater at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
Previously, US researchers said they found the gun with bolts believed to have been used to kill Kirk and release images of an individual of interest.
The researchers talked to Robinson’s roommate, who showed them that Robinson had done Discord, a chat and streaming platform popular with players, discussing a rifle from a fall point and then leaving the rifle on a bush wrapped in a towel. This matches the description of the weapon recovered by the authorities after being taken to a wooded area near the campus.
The ammunition found on stage were registered, Cox said. The messages in the housing included: “What is this”. “Oh, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Ciao.” “If you read this, you are gay. LMO.” And “Hey Fassist, Catch!”, Cox told reporters.

Kirk, a well -connected activist, writer and host of Podcast, helped build a support for Trump and the Republican Party among the younger voters.
Kirk was a co -founder and president of the USA conservative student group and appeared in the Utah Valley on Wednesday as part of a planned “American tour” of the US US University of Poupe. His assassination recalled the anger and complaints of political violence by Democrats, Republicans and foreign governments.
