Suryakumar Yadav will lead the Indians of the Mumbai to the Indian Premier League opener against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, while regular master Hardik Pandya serves a ban on a fight.
Mubai’s slow excessive enforcement in the final championship game last year was the third offense of the season, which suspended a match for Pandya.
There are three regular captains in the Bombay Indian camp, all with proven files. Rohit Sharma has captured India in all forms and currently leads the national team to tests and Odis. Bumrah’s gymnastics
Maela Jayawardene’s lead coach has confirmed that Asteras Pacer Jasprit Bumrah is currently at the NCA National Academy (NCA) and has just begun the rehabilitation process.
This suggests that his return for the 18th version of the Indian Premier League (IPL) remains uncertain.
Bumrah has exceeded the last two months due to a lower back injury associated with the stress suffered during the final test of Trophy Border-Gavaskar.
His absence is a major challenge for the Indians of Mumbai, especially in the original phase of the tournament. However, Jayawardene remains optimistic that Bumrah will soon join the team.
“Jasprit is, right now, with the NCA, as soon as he started his progress, we have to wait and see what their comments are for him, for the time being, everything is going well, but obviously it is everyday,” Jayawardene said while speaking in the media.
He also emphasized the importance of Bumrah for the team, stating: “He is in a good spirit, without being a challenge, he is one of the best pellers in the world and was a fantastic professional for many years.”
Reports show that Bumrah has not yet fully recovered from his injury, which has been sidelined since January 4, when he faced discomfort on the second day of the final test against Australia in Sydney.
This is the first major injury to the back since underwent surgery in March 2023.
Bumrah was originally named in the Temporary India Team for the recently integrated Trophy Champions, which the team won on March 9th.
Consequently, it was omitted by the final team after undergoing further scanning in Bangalore last month, confirming the prolonged recovery schedule.
It is advisable to note that the Bombay Indians will launch their IPL 2025 campaign against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai on Sunday, March 23, followed by a conflict against Gujarat’s Titans on Ahmedabad on March 29th.
