Seoul:
Captain Tottenham, Son Heung-Min, said on Saturday that he would leave the club this summer after a decade in northern London.
The 33 -year -old attacker joined the Premier League side by Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and continued to play more than 450 times for the Spurs.
In May he uploaded the Europa League trophy, but had a bad time with his high standards and competed with a series of leg injuries.
“Before we started the press conference, I wanted to say that I decided to leave the club this summer,” South Korea told reporters in Seoul, where Tottenham is on tour before the season.
“With respect the club helps me with this decision.”
The son, who scored 173 goals for the Spurs, did not say where he intends to go and cut an emotional figure.
Has been linked to a move to MLS in the United States.
“It was the most difficult decision I have made in my career, such amazing memories, it was so difficult to make the decision,” said the son, framed by the new boss Tottenham Thomas Frank.
“I need a new environment to push myself. I need a little change – 10 years it’s a long time.
“I leave this club as an adult. A very proud man.”
Speaking to Korean, the son said that the victory of a European trophy – Tottenham’s first European Crown in 41 years – played “a big role” in his thinking.
“The victory of a title in Europe felt as if I had achieved whatever I could,” he said.
“I have spent a lot of time reflecting on whether I wanted to experience football in a different environment and I had these conversations with myself again and again.”
Frank, who joined Spurs from Brdford in June, pays tribute to the South Korean governor.
“For me, personally, I would like to have worked with this fantastic person and a player,” said Dane, who took over from the Ange Postcoglou.
“It’s a real spurs myth in every aspect, one of the biggest players to play in the Premier League.”
Spurs will face Newcastle United on Sunday in Seoul and the son is guaranteed a frustrated reception in front of his fans.
The Spurs had a quite quiet summer in the transport market so far, with West Ham striker Mohammed Kudus his unique great acquisition.
Morgan Gibbs-White had seemed to follow from Nottingham Forest, but a move of 60 million pounds broke.
