Sixth Pakistan’s Sixth Politics of 2025 referred to Sindh

• Thatta mentions the last case of polio, says the Pakistani Piel Program.

Karachi: Pakistan reported the sixth case of polio of the year from the Sindh region on Saturday, confirmed the Pakistani Poliovaeelitis Program.

The Regional Reference Laboratory of the National Institute of Health (NIH) has verified the case, signaling the fourth case of Sindh polio this year. One was reported by Punjab and another was reported by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa earlier.

In 2024, a total of 74 cases of polio throughout Pakistan were reported, with the recording of 27 cases Balochistan 27 cases, Sindh 23, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 22 and one case from Punjab and Islamabad.

Pakistan is one of the two political countries around the world, along with Afghanistan, and the number of cases had declined significantly in the country every year until the recent rise in cases.

Cases

Polio is a paralyzed disease without treatment and the completion of the vaccination routine for all children under the age of five provides high immunity against this terrible disease.

The first national polio campaign of 2025 reached over 45 million children earlier this month, according to a statement by Pakistan Poliovaeelitis.

He added that a FIPV-OPV campaign in the Quetta Division and Karachi took place between 20 and 28 February, about 0.9 million children with injectable and oral polio vaccines for additional immunity.

In addition, this week was also carried out and a targeted vaccination activity in 104 councils bordering Afghanistan or Afghan refugee camps to reduce the risk of cross -border and internal polio transmission, vaccinated over 0.6 million children.

The polio program urged all parents to vaccinate their children against polio at every opportunity to keep them protected from this catastrophic disease.
