ISLAMABAD: Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed reaffirmed solidarity with Kashmiris in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.
In an exclusive conversation with The Pakistan Daily, Senator Mushahid Hussain said: “We salute the Kashmiri heroes and martyrs, whose struggle against the brutal Indian occupation is writing an indelible chapter in the annals of freedom struggles.”
Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, who also serves as the Chairman of the Senate Defence Committee said that Pakistan and its people resolutely support the Kashmiri struggle.
“We reaffirm our resolve to stand by our Kashmiri brethren till final victory, InshAllah!”, Mushahid told The Pakistan Daily.
Whilst speaking in the Senate earlier, Mushahid highlighted the fact that a Hindu senator, Krishna Kumari chaired the meeting on Kashmir reflecting that Pakistan’s federation was inclusive, pluralistic and tolerant in stark contrast to Modi’s fascist dystopia.
“In India today, instead of a secular, inclusive and pluralist India, we are seeing the republic of #Hindutva, a fascist republic, under Narendra Modi‘s RSS,” Senator Mushahid Hussain said.
Mushahid, who is considered to the amongst the top foreign policy experts in Pakistan stressed the need to win the battle of ideas and narratives.
He quoted Dr Gregory Stantan, Chairman of Genocide Watch who gave a testimony to the US Congress saying that in India, there were makings of genocide starting with Kashmir and Assam against Muslims. Dr Stantan is also the author of the famous book, The Ten Stages of Genocide.
Mushahid said that both the military establishment and the political leadership needed to have a clear policy in regard to India.
He rejected voices from Lahore’s business community voicing support for stronger trade ties with India. “Modi is a killer of people, he is committing genocide, we should have strategic clarity on India. On the one hand, we say that India is fuelling unrest in Balochistan in KP and on the other hand we are preparing for Modi to come here. These two don’t go together,” he said.
“Parliamentary diplomacy, academia, think tanks and the Kashmiri diaspora, these are the weapons in our struggle. The Kashmiri people are resisting and we are fully behind this resistance all the way,” Mushahid said in the Senate.
