The Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) were unable to adopt a joint statement at their meeting in Qingdao, China, after India refused to sign the document, arguing that it was in favor of Pakistan not to mention the April attack on April.
SCO is a 10 -member Eurasian security and political bloc that includes China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Iran and many Central Asia states. The meeting of the Ministers of Defense took place in front of the summit of the annual leaders scheduled for later this year.
Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif led the Pakistani delegation to the meeting, where it confirmed the country’s commitment to regional stability, collective security and anti -terrorism.

Underlining the importance of SCO as a platform for dialogue, mutual trust and regional cooperation, Mr Asif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the principle of the United Nations Charter and the SCO Charter, describing them as necessary to promote worldwide and worldwide.
He further condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Indian illegal occupied Jamo & Kashmir (Iiojk), urging the international community to pay responsible for those who fund and support such acts. He also referred to the bombing Jaffar Express in Backedan as another example of cross -border terrorism that undermines regional peace.
Underlining unresolved conflicts as serious threats to global stability, Mr Asif emphasized the need for peaceful resolution of issues such as Kashmir and Palestine through diplomacy, mediation and enduring dialogue.
However, the meeting faced a setback when India refused to approve the final statement, claiming that it favored Pakistan’s attitude. The Indian delegation opposed the omission of any reference to the April 22 attack on Hindus pilgrims at Iiojk, which killed 26 people.
India accused Pakistan of the incident, a category of Islamabad has firmly rejected. The attack has led to some of the most intense cross -border exchanges for years, after India claimed to have targeted the “terrorist infrastructure” in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan denied the accusation, stating that the locations aimed at were politicians in nature and had no ties to terrorism.

Referring to anonymous sources, the foreign news agency said India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh believed that the plan “diluted India’s position on critical issues such as terrorism and regional security”.
Singh said the joint statement “fits in with Pakistan’s narrative” because he failed to attack April, but included a report of terrorist activity in the Backedan – an area where Pakistan has long accused India of supporting separation, allegations.
“Some members, member states, have not been able to reach consensus on some issues and therefore the document could not be finalized on our part,” India Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal told reporters in weekly media information.
“India wanted concerns about the terrorism reflected in the document, which was not accepted by a particular country and therefore the statement was not adopted,” he said, without nameing the country.
Qingdao’s meeting marked the first time that senior ministers from India and Pakistan shared a scene from their military stance in May.
