Satellite images show that Iran hit us the American dome in Qatar Military Base

The new satellite images show Iran’s rocket strike on a US military base in Qatar in June, destroyed a dome used for secure communications, a basic structure at Al Udeid air base, which hosts the US Central Command headquarters.

An international press analyzed satellite images from the PBC Planet Labs showing the dome intact on the morning of June 23, on the day of the strike, and then missing in pictures two days later. The scorch signs and minor damage are visible, but the rest of the base is largely untouched.

A few hours after the report, Pentagon’s spokesman, Sean Parnell, confirmed that the strike hit the dome, describing the overall damage as “minimal” and stressing that Al Udeid remains “fully functional and capable” of supporting our defenders and Qatari businesses.

The Iranian missile attack was held in retaliation for US three nuclear bombing in Iran. The strike came in the midst of a 12-day Iran-Israel war and preceded a ceasefire agreement held by then US President Donald Trump.

He later stated that Iran had marked the timetable and range of its response in advance, allowing us to prepare the Katari forces. There were no losses and the aircraft had been evacuated from the base before the strike.

While Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard described the attack as “devastating and strong”, US officials are downgrading its impact.

A consultant for the Supreme Leader of Iran claimed that the strike interrupted communications on the base, although the Pentagon has not confirmed such a disorder.

The dome, a Radome that protects a satellite terminal, was part of a $ 15 million communications system installed by the US Air Force in 2016. Its destruction marks one of the few confirmed compensation in the exchange.

Qatar has not issued a public comment on the incident.
