Ryan Seacrest gets emotional as he opens for dad’s prostate cancer

Ryan Seacrest opened Monday for his father’s renewed battle with prostate cancer and the emotional tax taken on his family.

In an emotional show In the air with Ryan SeacrestRyan shared that his father’s cancer, once undetectable in 2021, returned and spread.

THE American idol The host broke as he recalled the moment he received a call during a live film for his father to move to the ICU.

Explaining that “he never really talked about it”, Ryan said he had finished the episode in some way, even though I don’t even remember what I was saying. “

“When this happens to someone or someone very close to you you love, this is difficult to see, because the treatments that are usually recommended can be barbaric in the system.

Ryan flew to Atlanta shortly after the show and stayed by his father’s side through critical moments, including a debate on life or death surgery. His father refused to function and spent weeks in intensive care, unable to eat, sit or even drink water.

“When you see a falling parent and when you see them passing through it and you don’t understand it yourself, you just hear all the different doctors and trying to understand what they are trying to suggest and do,” he shared. “I didn’t want to lose trying to figure out who these people were taking care of my father,” he shared on Podcast.

Ryan also noted that he wanted to help his mother, Connie, who is in cancer recession. “I needed to take a break,” he said. “When you are a child, no one tells you how to handle it with your parents.”

His father was released this month and is a home in Atlanta with full -time care, Ryan shared. He also revealed that he was flying back and behind Los Angeles every weekend to visit his father, who struggled to get up from his chair for almost five months.
