Ravindra Jadeja closes rumors of retirement after Champions Trophy’s victory

The Indian All-Rounder Ravindra Jadeja rejected speculation around his possible retirement after India’s Trophy Trophy 2025 Triumph over New Zealand in Dubai.

Jadeja, 36, played a central role in India’s victory on Sunday, providing a disciplined 10-over spell for 30 runs, while claiming Tom Latham’s basic wicket. His efforts have helped to limit New Zealand on 251-7. In Chase, he remained undefeated in nine of six balls, hitting the victorious trips to the 49th to seal the third title Trophy Trophy of India.

With Captain Rohit Sharma and Star Batter Virat Kohli addressing their own retirement plans after the race, speculation had emerged about Jadeja’s future. However, he quickly ended rumors with an Instagram story he read, “There are no unnecessary rumors. Thanks.”

The position, which included folded hands and emojis greeting, became viral, with fans celebrating the confirmation that the experienced All-Rounder is not removed from cricket ODI.

Jadeja was also named “Fielder of the Match” for his performance throughout the tournament. India coach T. Dilip praised the team’s efforts, underlining their tension, commitment and companionship.

“No effort in the field is always very small. Every commitment has supplied a common target – Trophy Champions. Fielding is two sides of the same coin. The intensity, aggression, attitude and reflexes in one, and companionship, confidence and brotherhood on the other.

Jadeja, who made his ODI debut in 2009, represented India in 203 games, garnering 8,150 runs and claiming 230 wickets. He celebrates the title victory with his wife, Rivaba, and daughter, Nidhyana, in Dubai.

Reflecting the moment, Jadeja recognized the importance of victory.

“This is how he is with me, sometimes a hero. Sometimes a zero. Wicket was not easy for a new stroke, Hardik and KL was great. Winning Trophy Champions is a huge thing, if you don’t win a big tournament after playing for so long, it hurts.”

In his latest statement, Jadeja put an end to speculation, making it clear that his focus remains in the representation of India.
