Piers Morgan, the host of “Piers Morgan Uncensored” expressed his support for the Palestinians in Gaza and called out Israel’s bombardment which resulted in a complete blackout of communications in the besieged strip.

Morgan has come under fire for not supporting the Palestinian stance on his show.

His recent remarks were among the first words of respect for the vulnerable Palestinians in Gaza.

“Where will these Palestinians live when the war is over? So many of their homes are being destroyed. Does Israel have an answer? Does it care?” Morgan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) expressing concern about the humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians in Gaza and calling out Israel’s actions.

He took issue with a post from the IDF’s official account on X claiming to be an “urgent message for the people of Gaza” saying: “How are they (the people of Gaza) supposed to hear this message if you have cut off their ability to communicate?” “

After shutting down phone and internet services, Gaza remains cut off from the outside world, as media and humanitarian groups warn that the communications blockade could serve as a cover for crimes committed in the besieged territory.

After some of the worst shelling of the conflict and reports from Hamas that Israeli forces had made some small ground incursions overnight, Palestinians in Gaza were cut off from outsiders for a second day on Saturday.

Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip has destroyed “all remaining international routes connecting Gaza to the outside world,” according to a statement late Friday from the Palestinian telecommunications company Jawwal.

The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza said on Saturday that at least 7,703 people had been killed in the war with Israel that broke out on October 7.

More than 3,500 children are among the dead. The total is the highest number of war deaths in Gaza since Israel unilaterally withdrew from the territory in 2005.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestine refugees, UNRWA, said that Gazans “are not only dying from bombs and strikes, but soon many more will die from the consequences of (the) siege”.

A first tranche of aid was allowed last weekend, but only 74 trucks have passed through since then. The UN says an average of 500 trucks were entering Gaza each day before the conflict.

“These few trucks are nothing but crumbs that won’t make a difference,” Lazzarini said.

Between the shelling and fuel shortages, 12 of Gaza’s 35 hospitals were forced to close and UNRWA said it had to “significantly reduce its operations”.

The Israeli military has accused Hamas of using hospitals in Gaza as operations centers to launch attacks, a claim Hamas has denied.
