Donald Trump’s invoices have become a black and white issue in the social media, where penguin mimics have gone viral as it aims at an island inhabited by birds without flight, but no people.
According to AFP, a widely common image on Thursday showed a penguin in place of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at the Oval Office during his recent series with US President and Vice President JD Vance.
Another meme showed us the First Mrs. Melania Trump who looked at an emperor penguin – instead of former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – while Trump seems to be asking.
Trump’s announcement on world invoices on Wednesday has definitely received a frozen reception in many countries.
But there has also been a disorder about why some of the most remote parts of the world have targeted.
One case: Why would Trump slap 10 percent invoices to all exports from Heard and McDonald islands, a barren sub -term territory of Australia without human population, but four different types of penguin?
“Our penguins have been removed for years,” Anthony Scaramucci, who was the former head of Trump’s communications for 11 days in his first term and is now a vocal critic, joking in X.
“Donald Trump hit the invoices to the penguins and not Putin,” he published the Senate’s Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, referring to the fact that Russia was not on the US duty list.
Trump also caused an embarrassment with the 29 % invoice on Norfolk island, a tiny Australian territory in the Pacific with a population of just over 2,000 people.
“I’m not sure that Norfolk island, in relation to it, is a commercial competitor with the giant economy of the United States,” Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.
The remote islands of Falkland, Britain – hosting a million penguins and the most famous for a 1982 war that Britain fought to repel the Argentine invaders – was hit by 41 % exports, although the United Kingdom faces only 10 %.
