PCB beats “hypocrisy”, forbids players from future events

The Pakistani Critical Council (PCB) has announced a general ban on all future Legends World Championships (WCL), accusing the organizers of the tournament of hypocrisy and prejudiced behavior.

The decision came after the Board of Directors meeting (BOG), which was essentially held on Sunday under the chairmanship of Chief PCB Mohsin Naqvi.

In a strongly worded statement, the PCB expressed a “significant disappointment” for WCL’s decision to award points in a team that intended to lose a race, while also taking exception to what is called “hypocritical and prejudiced” language in the WCL press releases.

“The contents of these types of types emphasize a duality where the narrative of” peace through sport “is selectively applied,” PCB said. “Sports events take place for political feasibility and close commercial interests.”

It is worth noting that on July 20, India champions refused to play against Pakistan in the tournament tournament match, which led to the cancellation of the race. The management of the WCL was then awarded in common points in both teams, a decision that eventually helped India to meet the conditions for the semifinals to reduce again to play, allowing Pakistan to proceed with the final.

The administrative body condemned the obvious violation of the tournament over the principle of athletic neutrality, calling on WCL’s justification for the cancellation “far from the value of cricket”.

“WCL’s apology for ‘damage to emotions’, while it was farcical, unintentionally acknowledges that the cancellation was not based on sporting reasons, but rather on a specific nationalist narrative,” the statement read. “This bias, disguised as a sensitivity, sends an unacceptable message.”

Underlining its long -term attitude to maintain sports and politics, PCB said it found it “deeply about” that even an event with retired, legendary players are now affected by external pressures.

“Our unshakable belief is that cricket, like other international sports, should serve as a platform for good will, healthy competition and mutual respect,” the Board reiterated. “For a tournament that includes legendary players to be dictated by emotions that undermine this fundamental principle is not only sad but deeply concerned.”

In the light of what he described as a “clear and unacceptable external influence” and “a violation of a fair game”, the PCB said that it could no longer allow its players to participate in the WCL or any future versions of the tournament.

“The PCB can no longer approve participation in an event where the fundamental principles of fair game and impartial administration are at stake in external pressure,” the statement added.

Despite its WCL criticism, PCB has confirmed its commitment to promote cricket worldwide and promote healthy rivalries.

“We remain committed to promoting cricket as a vehicle for unity and athletic ability,” the statement concluded. “However, we cannot allow our players to participate in events where the spirit of the game is overshadowed by the oblique policy that undermines the Lord’s game.”

The virtual meeting was attended by Sumair Ahmed Syed, Salman Naseer, Zaheer Abbas, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Sajjad Ali Khokhar, Zafarullah Jadgal, Tanveer Ahmed, Tariq Sarwar, Muhammad ismmad Qureshi, Anwaar Ahmad Khan, Adnank, Ushama Wahla (expert, and Mir Hassan Naqvi.
