The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday released a revised schedule for the upcoming tri-nation T20I series featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

As per the revised schedule, all the seven T20I matches, including the final, will now be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The series, billed as a key warm-up for next year’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, originally featured five matches in Lahore.

The opening game of the tri-series will be played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe on November 18.

“Each team will play in four matches, with the top two teams qualifying for the final scheduled on November 29,” the PCB press release said.

The tr-nation series schedule comes hours after PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi announced a revised schedule for the remaining one-day internationals (ODIs) between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Announcing the revised schedule, the PCB chief said that the remaining ODI matches between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will now be played on November 14 and 16 in Rawalpindi.

Taking to X, Naqvi expressed her gratitude to the Sri Lankan team for their decision to go ahead with the Pakistan tour. “The spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity shines through,” he wrote.

The new plans came after Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed the ongoing tour of Pakistan would go ahead following fears raised after Tuesday’s suicide bombing in Islamabad, which killed 12 people and injured 27 outside a court.

In a statement, the SLC clarified that if any player wants to return to Sri Lanka despite the assurance, they will be replaced in an effort to ensure the ongoing series continues without interruption, but the player will have to undergo a formal cricket assessment of their actions.

The Sri Lankan cricket board, in the statement, said the team management informed the board earlier in the day that some members of the national team had requested to leave Pakistan.

The board said it was in direct contact with the players, assuring them that all security concerns were being addressed in close coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and relevant authorities.

In a statement, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar thanked the Sri Lankan cricket team and said: “We are honored by your presence.”

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also said: “We especially thank the Sri Lankan cricket team for their visit and for showing good cricket. Our best wishes and gratitude.”
