Pakistan lost the seventh wicket after scoring 177 runs in the 57th over on Friday during the second day of the third Test against England.

Earlier, Shan Masood was dismissed after scoring 26 runs as the hosts lost their fourth wicket by 99 runs against England.

The deciding game of the series between the two teams is being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Both Masood and Saud Shakeel continued Pakistan’s innings on day two of the third and final Test with the hosts earlier posting 73-2 in reply to the tourists’ 267 all out.

After bowling England out for 267 in their first innings on Thursday, Pakistan struggled with the collapse of their top order as they lost three wickets on day one.

England’s Shoaib Bashir dismissed Abdullah Shafique (14) in the ninth over, while Jack Leach ended Saim Ayub’s innings on 19 in the twelfth over. Gus Atkinson dealt a major blow to the home side by claiming the wicket of Kamran Ghulam for 3.

However, the Pakistan skipper and Shakeel scored 16 runs, helping the team’s declining line-up to stand firm at the end of the first day of the series decider at 73/3.

The three-Test series is tied at 1-1.

Earlier, Jamie Smith (89) and Ben Duckett (52) scored fifties, but England’s more aggressive front-line generally struggled to deal with the spinning ball.

Pakistan’s spin duo Sajid Khan and Noman Ali paced England’s lineup as they claimed six and three wickets respectively, followed by Zahid Mahmood who took one wicket.

After the departure of skipper Ben Stokes (12), Jamie Smith revived his side by scoring a crucial 89 off 119 balls along with Atkinson’s 39 off 71. Zahid removed Smith in the 62nd over, while Atkinson was caught and bowled by Noman.
