The second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh, part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25, is scheduled to begin on August 30 in Rawalpindi.
Bangladesh lead the two-match series 1-0 after securing their first Test win over Pakistan with a 10-wicket win in the opening match.
Pakistan will look to level the series in this crucial encounter.
However, the weather conditions on the first day may play an important role in the process.
According to AccuWeather, temperatures are expected to be around 27°C, although it will be closer to 30°C due to high humidity.
Cloudy skies, widespread cloud cover and a significant chance of a thunderstorm are expected.
Winds will be out of the northeast at 11 km/h, with gusts up to 32 km/h. Rainfall could reach 25.4mm, with humidity levels at 79%, possibly reducing visibility to 4km.
The weather may disrupt play as there is an 80% chance of rain throughout the day.
Bangladesh made history by beating Pakistan by 10 wickets in the Rawalpindi Test, with Pakistan bowled out for just 146 runs in their second innings on the final day.
Pakistan played four pacers in the first Test – Shaheen, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali and Naseem Shah – as the Shan Masood-led unit wanted to go with a pace attack, but things did not go their way as they were dominated by their batting Bangladesh faction.
It is believed in the dressing room that the pacers could not exploit the grass on the pitch and their declining pace also became a matter of discussion.
The latest loss to Bangladesh adds to this string of failures, leaving fans and former players deeply worried about the future of Pakistan cricket.
Pakistan’s last home Test win was in February 2021 against South Africa. Since then, they have endured a series of disappointing results, including a series loss to Australia, a drubbing by England and a draw with New Zealand.
