- There is no handshake assurance with Pakistan players: BCCI Official

Karachi: Continuing its policy on the politicization of sport, the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI), Devajit Saikia, said that Pakistan’s policy would remain unchanged in the upcoming conflict at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
In an interview with BbcThe BCCi secretary said there was no certainty that Indian players would tighten their hands with their Pakistani counterparts during their upcoming Colombo game on October 5th.
“I can’t predict anything, but our relationship with this country (Pakistan) is the same. There is no change last week,” Saikia said.
“India will play what fits Pakistan in Colombo and all cricket protocols will follow. I can only assure that whatever is in MCC [Marylebone Cricket Club] Cricket regulations that will be done. Whether there will be handshakes or hugs, I can’t assure you anything right now, “he added.
His comments come in the context of India’s controversial and widely doomed behavior during the recently integrated Asia Cup, where the men’s team refused to tighten their hands with Pakistani players and made political statements during ceremonies after the match.
India also refused to collect the trophy of the winners from the Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as Chairman of the Pakistani Council (PCB).
The BCCI secretary’s observations came shortly after Indian sports journalist Boria Majumdar who proposed in a position of social media that the upcoming World Cup would bring the same tensions out of the field that the Witnesses were made during the recent Asian Cup.
“India-Pakistan’s game in Colombo will not be another cricket match. It will be a continuation of the Asia Cup and the only thing that changes is the sex,” Majumdar wrote in a place in X, implying the possible denial of handshakes, increased drama and political employees.
“There will be no handshakes, many out -of -field dramas and increased stakes,” the Indian journalist said.
Meanwhile, a source in PCB said Geo News That the message by the PCB president to the women’s group remained the same as that was given to men.
Before the Asian Cup final, Naqvi told the men’s team to express themselves freely and leave the rest to him, the source added.
