After a string of losses in the GOP’s Super Tuesday nominating contests, Haley announces relegation

Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, announced Wednesday that she will drop out of the Republican presidential race, leaving former President Donald Trump as the sole GOP candidate and paving the way for a Trump-Mayden rematch in November 2024. CNN mentionted.
After a string of losses in the GOP nomination contests on Super Tuesday, Haley announced she would drop out of the race during remarks in Charleston, South Carolina.
However, Haley is not expected to support Trump, according to sources familiar with her. Instead, she calls on the former president to win the support of voters who supported her. Her plan leaves room for her to endorse the former President ahead of November’s presidential election.
Haley was the last of 12 prominent candidates the former president defeated in a GOP primary in which he opened from start to finish — including a landslide victory in 14 of 15 GOP contests on Super Tuesday.
In recent speeches, Haley has begun to sharpen her attacks on Trump, questioning his mental capacity and lumping him with President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, as one of two “grumpy old men.”
Haley’s campaign
Her campaign focused on a message of ushering in a “new generation leader” and challenging 20th century political norms. Despite her political experience and name recognition, she started out as a relatively dark horse, and gradually became Trump’s top contender.
As the race came down to just Haley and Trump, he suffered setbacks in New Hampshire and the state of South Carolina. Despite winning the Washington primary just before Super Tuesday, he came up short.
In an effort to distance herself from Trump’s vision for the Republican Party, Haley has tempered her attacks, raising concerns about Trump’s commitment to the Constitution and calling his potential nomination “suicide for our country.”
While Haley continued to draw large crowds, rumors of a third-party bid were repeatedly dismissed. In her speech before the South Carolina primary, she made it clear that her purpose was not simply to oppose Trump, but to express concerns about both the former and current president.
