US President Donald Trump is to be told by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that any expansion of Iran’s ballistic missile program is a threat that could require swift action, NBC News reported Saturday.
Israeli officials are concerned that Iran is rebuilding the nuclear enrichment sites the US bombed in June and are preparing to brief Trump on options about striking again at the missile program, the NBC report added.
According to NBC, Israeli officials are increasingly concerned that Iran is working to rebuild nuclear enrichment sites struck by US forces in June, sources said. However, they see Tehran’s efforts to rebuild facilities linked to ballistic missile production and repair damaged air defense systems as a more immediate threat.

According to the sources, Netanyahu is expected to claim that Iran’s activities threaten not only Israel but also regional stability and US interests. It is also likely to present options for possible US involvement or support if Israel pursues further military operations against Iran.
Asked Thursday about a possible meeting with Netanyahu on Dec. 29, Trump told reporters: “We haven’t formally arranged it, but he would like to see me.” Israeli officials, however, announced that the meeting is scheduled for December 29.
