Melissa Gilbert is the latest celebrity to slam Megyn Kelly for her recent comments about convicted child abuser Jeffrey Epstein.
For those who don’t know, Megyn recently said that some people believe Epstein “wasn’t a pedophile” because he was “of the barely legal type.”
The American journalist made the shocking claim during the November 12 episode of her Sirius XM show, The Megyn Kelly Show.
“He liked 15-year-old girls. And I realize that’s disgusting. I’m certainly not trying to justify that,” the political commentator said. “I’m just giving you evidence, that it wasn’t for 8-year-olds.”
“But he liked very young teenage types who could pass as even younger than they were, but would look legit to a passerby,” he continued.
The ex Fox News The host then added: “There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?”
On November 15, Melissa took to her Instagram handle to respond to Megyn’s comments.
“Well, I debated posting this, but I feel compelled to share it. After seeing a lot of female posts with the hashtags #iwasfifteen #imfifteen #iwasachild, I decided to google that age and see what came up. And this is some of what I found… and now, at this age, at this time, I’m really confused about the actress.” Little House in Livadi Dean Butler costars.
Melissa further wrote: “The girl on vacation in Hawaii with her family is the same girl who was expected to ‘fall in love’ and kiss a guy in the movie who was several years older than her. Through today’s lens, this is shocking.”
“And I was the good news. Thank God my mom and Michael [Landon] and so many others were there to make sure I was safe. Can you imagine if I didn’t have it all? I’m so lucky (sort of). Many other young women are not,” she continued.
“You have to be careful with your words,” Melissa added.
