Islamabad:
Despite the loss of hundreds of lives in LPG explosions across the country, the law ministry was reluctant to delete the OGRA LPG industry amendment for the last two years, which provides for strict sanctions, including imprisonment.
The Oil and Natural Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) proposed 10 years in prison along with a fine of 10 million Rs. Secondly, the regulator proposed 14 years in prison with a fine of 15 million Rs for those involved in cases of liquefied oil oil (LPG) and explosion of the browser.
According to LPG officials, letters have written many times in the law ministry, but has not moved to save people from people from degraded LPG and Bowsers.
Ogra had submitted a draft bill to the Ministry of Law two years ago, but is still pending without progress to date.
The Pakistani LPG Distributor Association, in a letter sent to the Prime Minister, said there was no appropriate legal framework to ensure security in the LPG industry. Existing laws carry negligible penalties for illegal practices.
In the letter, the LPG Association expressed his concern about the ongoing delay in the OGRA amendment bill by the Ministry of Law and asked Justice and Justice Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar to take immediate action on the matter.
The incidents often occur due to the involvement of CO2 in the LPG and those involved in this dangerous negligence are attributed without punishment.
The Association urged the Ministry of Law and Justice to present the proposed amendments to the bill to parliament, noting that we have strict sanctions for those responsible. If the account is not submitted soon, the link warned that it would be obliged to protest.
In a video statement, the president of the Irfan Khokhar Union said two explosions and four deaths occur daily due to this issue. He noted that more than 36 letters have been sent to government bodies and to the ministry of law, underlining the delay in the passage of the bill.
He referred to incidents such as the tragic Bowser explosion in DG Han and the losses from Bowser explosions in Hyderabad last year. Khokhar also said that in recent days five people died in an LPG explosion in Lahore.
“We respect the immediate approval and implementation of the pending oil and explosive materials, with a clear and executive ban on manufacturers and the sale of degraded LPG, Bowsers and Valves in Pakistan.
