Lorraine Kelly has revealed she feels like she’s been given a second chance at motherhood as she opened up about her life as a grandmother.

The beloved TV presenter’s only child Rosie welcomed her first daughter with fiance Steve White in August 2024 and the family are now gearing up for their second Christmas together.

Lorraine and her husband Steve Smith recently moved into a house just six minutes away from their daughter, and the show icon admitted she feels like she’s ‘getting a chance to be a mum again’ after the challenges of bringing up Rosie during the demanding years of her career.

Speaking to Daily Mail As part of EE Broadband’s Christmas campaign, Lorraine also reflected on changing attitudes towards working mothers and pregnancy, noting that it was once considered taboo for pregnant women to appear on television.

Lorraine said: “It’s great. To be honest with you, I have a chance to be a mom again in a way.

“I’m not going to be a mom again because Rosie is her mom and she’s got her mom, but I’ve got the chance to do it again and hopefully I’ll do it better.”

Reflecting on juggling motherhood and her career she explained: “Because when I had Rosie I was 30, I think I was 34 and I was working and it’s always harder to be a mother.”

Praising her daughter, she continued: “I think you’re amazing. She is incredible, absolutely incredible. I don’t know how you do everything you do, but it’s great when it’s your grandchild because you read these books that you read yourself.

“It’s just wonderful, and it’s a lamb. It is a credit to you. He is an incredible angel.’

Lorraine also spoke about changing attitudes towards working mums and pregnancy, explaining how it used to be considered taboo for pregnant women to appear on TV.
