Lady Gaga doesn’t seem to have a fairytale wedding on her mind.
The Grammy-winning singer, 38, is set to exchange vows with fiancé Michael Polansky, and it seems she’s only decided on the venue and the menu.
“We’re actually talking about going to the courthouse just the two of us and ordering Chinese food,” Gaga said during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“But knowing me, it could also become like a unicorn circus,” he added jokingly.
Gaga was on the show to promote her new movie Joker: Folie à Deux, during which he also remembered Polanski’s almost dreamlike proposal.
“He proposed right after my birthday,” she said. “So my birthday rolled around and I was like, ‘Well, I thought he was going to propose, but then maybe…’
Gaga shared how Polansky kept her waiting for “a beautiful birthday dinner” and then “rock climbing.”
“Truth; Do you rock climb?’ Kimmel asked, to which she added, “I mean, I do now. I’d do anything for love,” laughing.
Gaga recalled how she didn’t propose even when she was on top.
“He didn’t propose to me at the top. We went up to the top … took some pictures and then went back down. And we were just walking back in the room and talking and he said … it was very Michael, to ask me if he could ask me.”
“He wanted to know if it was okay to propose before he proposed to me and I said ‘Yes! It’s so okay!’ Gaga exclaimed.
“So wait… didn’t he do it at the top? Are you sure this guy is all right?’ Kimmel joked.
“I think that was clever! It was safe, safe at the bottom,” Gaga justified, before explaining how he had the ring in his backpack the whole time, commenting on the gesture as “super cute.
“He likes it, he went into his backpack and took it out.”
Kimmel then asked if Polanski knelt, to which Gaga replied, “No, he didn’t. But you know what, I’m a modern lady, I like what she did.”
