Fans thronged the Eden Garden Stadium in Kolkata, India as the Pakistan team arrived for an optional training session ahead of the team’s upcoming match against England on November 11 (Saturday).

Only three players from Pakistan’s 18-member squad skipped today’s practice, including Imam-ul-Haq, Muhammad Nawaz and Abrar Ahmed, while all others were present to prepare for the win against the English cricketers.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s eyes will also be on New Zealand’s match against Sri Lanka as the game between the two teams is crucial for Pakistan’s entry into the semi-finals.

The team’s place in the competition remains in contention to reach the top four after their less than satisfactory performances at the World Cup.

Fans, however, were excited to see the green jerseys in action during training and talked about their favorites in the squad.

A crazy cricket fan said he wanted to see Pakistan captain Babar Azam score well.

“He is a very good cricketer. He bats very well and his attitude towards batting is something I really like,” he said while talking to me Geo News.

When asked how he feels watching Babar practice so closely.

“It feels really good. I can’t express how happy I am,” said the fan, seemingly elated.

Another fan, who is a young right-hander and unattached, said he came to the stadium to watch Rizwan practice.

“I really like the bump and groove of it,” he said.

He added that if he gets a chance to meet Rizwan, he would ask him for advice to improve his rolling talent.

One fan of the green shirts said he could not believe watching a national team training in front of their eyes.

“It’s a very good opportunity for us to watch them and learn. There are several good batsmen who could teach a lot to the young generation here,” he said.

A young fan said he will cheer for Pakistan on November 11 in their match against England. He also wished the Pakistani side to reach the semi-finals and then the finals against India as well. “If the final is between India and Pakistan, it will be historic.”

An elderly fan said it will be exciting to watch India and Pakistan play a semi-final match at the Eden Gardens.
