Royal experts fear that King Charles is allowing the monarchy to become a constitutional quagmire, so they have come forward with a warning of their own.
Royal author Jane Marguerite Tippett aired these sentiments and claims about the royal family’s “best recourse”.
She weighed it all in one of her latest pieces on The Daily Mail.
In this piece he began by saying, “The Royal Family is no stranger to a crisis.”
“It has been rocked by scandals, extramarital affairs and what in the mid-1990s seemed like an endless stream of divorces that destroyed the fairytale ideal of the modern royal wedding.”
“Despite these upheavals, however, royal life, on the whole, continued as normal.”
But “That’s not the case today, when the difficulties are not just reputational but practical,” he admitted.
“Two of the four most senior members of the dynasty have been rocked by health crises that have put them out of action for what we can only imagine will be a long period of time.”
“The two remaining healthy members, Queen Camilla and William, Prince of Wales, face the significant struggle of balancing their duty to the public with the private obligations of supporting an ailing spouse.”
In Ms Tippet’s eyes, “After seven decades of certainty and a monarch who was an unshakable physical presence on the landscape of British national life, the future suddenly looks less than clear.”
“But the Royal Family will know this is not unprecedented,” because “anxiety like the one we’re experiencing now was rife in the days, weeks and months following Edward VIII’s abdication to marry the twice-divorced American Wallis Simpson in December 1936. .”
“I have no doubt that the events of the late 1930s will be on the minds of the king and his advisers today.” Because at that period of history “it was a family as much as a constitutional difficulty.”
