The Canadians have canceled trips south of the border, boycott alcohol and other US products and even sports events, as US President Donald Trump announced 25% invoices to most of Canada’s goods on Saturday.
Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau immediately announced retaliation invoices at $ 155 billion ($ 107 billion) of US goods. Those in $ 30 billion will come into force on Tuesday, the same day as most of Trump’s tariffs and duties for the remaining C $ 125 billion in 21 days, Trudeau said.

The positions of the head of state and the head of the government in Canada hold separate people.
The prime minister is the head of the government and the monarch – at present the same majesty the king of Charles III – is the leader of the state.
The powers and responsibilities of the monarch are determined and limited by the Canadian Constitution and several other laws.
