Jay Blades’ second count of using a phone while driving was dismissed.
The TV presenter, 54, is still accused of physically and emotionally abusing his wife – leading to backlash on professional fronts.
The second charge was dropped as the case officer was unavailable, Daily Mail was mentioned.
According to the report, prosecutor Zulqarnain Saeed told Cannock magistrates at the time that the Crown would therefore not be offering any evidence against the Blade’s driving last April in Wombourne, Staffordshire.
Presiding Judge Neil Ravenscroft told Blades in the recent but brief two-minute hearing that he was “free to go,” to which Blades replied, “Thank you, sir.”
The Blades left the field wearing a black cap and black suit.
Blades previously appeared before Kidderminster magistrates on Friday charged with “controlling and coercive behaviour” towards his 43-year-old gym teacher wife Lisa Zbozen over a 20-month period.
Zbozen announced on Instagram on May 2 that she had called it quits following the couple’s November 2022 wedding in Barbados.
West Mercia Police launched an investigation the following day after officers were “called to an address” and Blades was arrested.
As for his decline on the professional front, Mr BBC The star has been dropped by the broadcaster, who also booked an episode of Blades’ show with actor Sir David Jason titled David & Jay’s Touring Toolshed from BBC1Friday night’s schedule.
Following the allegations of domestic violence, Blades resigned as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation.
He has also resigned as chancellor of Buckinghamshire Bew University, where he studied criminology and philosophy.
One day before the first charge is delivered to Blades, The Repair Shop announced “an exciting new live tour” on Thursday, revealing that The Repair Shop – Secrets From The Barn there will be Blades and other experts from the show.
The £40-a-ticket show is set to tour the country in February.
