In a recent appearance on Ahmad Ali Butt’s show Mind Na Karna, Yumna Zaidi and Usama Khan engaged in a candid discussion about film promotions and Usama’s distinctive dressing style. The host asked about Usama’s eye-catching attire for promotional films, to which Usama responded by emphasizing the need for a distinct promotional look that differentiates her from typical drama looks.
Usama stressed the importance of suggesting that they are promoting a movie rather than a drama, advocating a unique style that captures the essence of the film. He stated, “If you wear the same clothes you’ve been seen in dramas, how will people know you’re promoting a movie? It shouldn’t feel like we’re promoting a drama, it should be obvious that we’re promoting a movie.”
When asked if Yumna was jealous of his eccentric wardrobe, she responded with humor, expressing her enjoyment of the variety. “No, I’m enjoying it!” he shared with a laugh. Furthermore, the actor shared an incident where Usama, known for his flamboyant outfits, wore simple clothes. Excited, she asked why, and Usama explained his concern about possible public teasing, particularly during their visit to Faisalamad. “One day, Usama was wearing normal clothes – completely plain, like in meetings,” Yumna recalls. “I asked Usama if he’s not ready yet. He said no. I asked him why. He said we’re going to Faisalabad and anyone in the audience can say anything.:
Usama elaborated on his humorous perspective, stating that Faisalabad is known for its wit and wanted to avoid any playful banter from the audience. “Faisalabad is quite humorous. I thought what if someone teases me in public?” Osama pleaded not guilty. The conversation provided insight into the actors’ approach to film promotion, showing their light-hearted camaraderie and Usama’s penchant for unconventional fashion choices.
Recently, Usama’s fashion choices have come under fire. After a local media outlet shared an Instagram post praising Usama’s recent appearances as “the fresh-faced and hip Lollywood hero in waiting,” the actor’s fans responded to voice their resounding agreement. The post praised Usama for “bringing a wave of charisma to the silver screen.”
Citing his disapproval, fashion guru Tabesh Khoja put in his crucial two cents on the responses with a sardonic “Matlab kuch bhi,” calling the post’s assessment of Usama far-fetched. The stylist finished off the dismissive response with a wide-eyed emoji that further underlined how unimpressed she was. Stylist Rao Ali Khan seemed to have a similar sentiment and slammed the actor’s style as “Govinda and Ranveer Singh renamed in China.” Snapshots of these responses were widely circulated on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) with fashionistas and Usama fans slamming Rao and Tabesh for trolling the actor.
