Iran can stop uranium enrichment

Dubai:

Iran can stop the enrichment of uranium if the US releases frozen Iranian funds and recognize Tehran’s right to improve uranium for political use under a “political agreement” that could lead to a wider nuclear agreement, two Iranian sources said.

Sources, near the negotiation group, said on Wednesday that a “political understanding with the United States could soon be approached” if Washington accepted the conditions of Tehran. One of the sources said the issue “has not yet been discussed” during talks with the United States.

Sources told Reuters that according to this arrangement, Tehran will prevent uranium enrichment for one year, its shares with extremely enriched stock abroad or converting it into fuel plates for political nuclear purposes.

A temporary cessation of enrichment would be a way to overcome a deadlock in a red line collision after five rounds of talks between Iranian Foreign Minister Abas Araqchi and the Middle Eastern Eastern Eastern envoy, Steve Witkoff to resolve a decades -old man.

US officials have repeatedly stated that any new nuclear agreement with Iran – to replace a failed 2015 agreement between Tehran and the six world powers – must include a commitment to abolish enrichment, which is considered as a potential way to grow.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly denied such intentions, saying that it wants nuclear energy only for political purposes and publicly rejected Washington’s request to abolish enrichment as an attack on its national sovereignty.

In Washington, a US official told Reuters that the proposal from Iranian sources had not been transferred to the negotiating table to date. The US Foreign Ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comments in this article.

Iran’s semi-official news agency said Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Esmaeil Baghaei denied Reuters report and said “enrichment in Iran is a non-negotiable authority”. Iranian sources said Tehran would not agree to disassemble its nuclear program or infrastructure or sealing of its nuclear facilities as required by US President Donald Trump’s administration.

Instead, they said, Trump must publicly recognize Iran’s sovereign right to enrich as a member of the Nuclear Non -Development Treaty and to approve the release of Iranian oil revenue, including $ 6 billion. Reuters
