Fawad urged FIFA that the election process should be completed before the deadline

The Ministry of Provincial Coordination has urged FIFA to address the delay in Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) elections.
In a letter, dated January 11, federal minister Fawad Hasan Fawad was disappointed that the elections “have not been completed even after more than four years of existence of the PFF Normalization Committee”.
The letter added that PFF NC has done everything it can to “prolong its existence at the expense of the game.”
“You will appreciate that under no circumstances did FIFA want the Regulation Committee to take on the role of the Federation itself indefinitely,” he added.
Fawad also urged FIFA that the election process should be completed well before the last extended deadline of March 15, 2024, without further extensions.
The Ministry also requested a meeting between all relevant agencies.
“Therefore, I would suggest that a meeting be held immediately to review the work done by the Regulation Commission in Pakistan or any other location of your choice, in the presence of representatives of the Government of Pakistan to define a clear road map for completion of the Pakistan Football Federation election process,” the letter concluded.
Last month, the meeting between Pakistan government, FIFA, Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and PFF NC was unexpectedly postponed.
The PFF NC conveyed the message of the postponement to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and the IPC Ministry.
Earlier, FIFA had proposed a meeting with Pakistan government officials in Dubai from September 11 to 13 through a letter written in July, but due to the busy schedule of various party officials it could not take place.
After that some more options were weighed and finally it was decided that the meeting between the various parties would take place on December 12 in Dubai, but that too could not take place.
