New Delhi: India can expect warmer than ordinary temperatures this summer, with more combustion days of burning burning lives and means of living, the Indian meteorological section (IMD) warned.
India is not foreign to summer burning, but years of scientific research has found that climate change causes the largest, more frequent and more intense.
Summer in India lasts from April to June, when temperatures often rise 45 degrees Celsius at the top of the season.
This year, the hot weather season will see the maximum “above normal” temperatures compared to most parts of the country, the country’s weather office said in a late Monday forecast.
The number of days of fuel, when the abnormally high temperatures are also recorded, several degrees above the long -term average, will also increase.
“They can be expected up to 10 days of heat or even more, especially in eastern India,” leading to thermal stress, the Head of Weather Bureau Mrutyunjay Mohapatra to reporters.
India usually experiences four to seven days of combustion between April and June.
Infants, the elderly, people with health problems and outdoor workers are particularly vulnerable to warmer temperatures.
The resulting thermal stress can cause symptoms ranging from dizziness and headaches to the failure and death of the organs.
Residents of cities surrounding concrete, brick and other heat absorption surfaces also face increased risk.
Prolonged periods of extreme heat can also accelerate infrastructure, such as electrical networks and transport systems.
IMD said that heat -action plans should be designed to address these challenges.
“This involves providing access to cooling centers, issue heat tips and implement strategies to relieve the effects of urban heat in affected areas,” he said.
India leaned through its longest wave last year, with temperatures regularly crossing 45 degrees Celsius.
The World Health Organization has estimated that heat kills at least half a million people each year, but warns that the actual number could be up to 30 times higher.
