In Tittensor and Barlaston, around 679 homes lost power early this morning due to a fault in the high voltage network, although most of these have since been restored. So far, 191 homes remain without power.

In Eccleshall, 35 homes, particularly around Shaws Lane, Trinity Road and Cross Butts, are still without power due to a suspected blown fuse. SP Energy Networks is working to assess and repair the damage caused by the storm, with power expected to be restored to most homes in Eccleshall by 10am. and at Tittensor and Barlaston until noon.

A yellow weather warning is in place for Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle and the Morlands from midnight until 11.59pm tonight.

Across the UK, an orange wind warning has been issued for northern areas, with red warnings for Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland. According to the Met Office’s latest forecast, Stoke-on-Trent will see wind speeds ranging from 52mph to 57mph by 2pm today.
