Hugh Jackman has just started his theater company.
The popular Wolverine The Star aims to produce “intimate and accessible” presentations alongside producer Broadway and West End, Sonia Friedman.
These two will also work with director Ian Rickson and create complete performances that will give the public “an opportunity to experience the theater in a fresh and exciting way” in the US, the United Kingdom, and other countries.
It is argued that the company will focus on providing equal fees for actors and common creative credit, with “stripping fully rehearsal producers to their basics”, making small reports that show cost -friendly.
Jackman and Friedman issued a joint statement, saying: “With director Ian Rickson we wanted to create a company where actors, writers and directors could experiment, explore and take danger, away from the pressures that are often associated with the world.”
“Together it is about returning to the basics, discovering the simple, fascinating substance of live performance. At the same time, it is not our expulsion from Broadway or West End, it is support and co -existing in parallel with them,” they added.
The twin continued: “We have always pulled the theater because of its raw energy – the excitement of a first reading, the joy of entering an unexpected role, this sense of a common experience.
“With Ian, this company is our way of sharing these moments with the public, making them part of our process,” Jackman and Friedman further said.
Further clarifying their goals, the two also stated: “We also want to embrace flexibility – either through a variety of efficiency timetables during the week or for the repertoire, allowing productions and ideas to evolve in a spontaneous and organic way.”
“With the abolition of some of the usual restrictions, we hope to create a space where productions can feel fresh, vibrant and constantly changing,” their statement concluded.
