Harris Enjoys a Relaxed Drink as Biden’s Back (Not Really)

From Donald Trump asking for military vehicles to Kamala Harris spilling her guts on The Tonight Show, American politics lately has been a dramatic mess. As Joe Biden drops out of the race, red Republicans under Donald and blue Democrats under Harris engage in an exciting race for the White House, marked by party-themed nail colors. Here’s American politics in a nutshell, folks!:

‘I’m back’

In a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room, President Joe Biden dropped a bombshell that he would run again for another term — only to brush it off with a smile. He was joking.

“Hey guys, my name is Joe Biden,” the president said as he took to the podium to talk about a series of accomplishments, including a strong jobs report.

He seemed so energized that a reporter asked him if he wanted to reconsider dropping out of the race, as he did to make Harris the Democratic nominee to face Trump in November.

“I’m back,” Biden said, then smiled broadly and waved as he was laughed at by the press corps.

‘Cheers!’

Biden and Trump are patient, so if Harris wins the White House, the American brewing industry may explode.

She revealed – and showed – during a late-night TV interview with Stephen Colbert that she likes the cold now and then.

“Cheers!” Harris said as she opened a can of Miller High Life, which the venerable US brewer describes as “the champagne of beers.”

“Colors for Kamala”

Two Harris supporters unveiled politically themed nail polish based on viral moments from the presidential campaign.

Amy Rosenthal and her partner Kate Friedman created a series called “Neutralising Name-Calling”.

The neutral shades called “Nasty” and “Have You Heard Her Laugh” are designed to poke fun at the ways Trump mocked the vice president.

“The Prosecutor” is a tone of orange reminiscent of US prison uniforms and Harris’ former career as a prosecutor in California.

Also sold is the classic red “Cat Lady” — a term used by Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance to describe childless women.

Not just fighter jets

Citing an assassination attempt and a second foiled plot, Trump is requesting military vehicles and aircraft for his campaign trips, The Washington Post was mentioned.

The unprecedented request by a candidate to travel with a military escort prompted a negative response from Biden, who said the only thing the Republican would not take were fighter jets.

“As long as he doesn’t ask for F-15s. I’ve told the department to give him what he needs … as he was the acting president,” Biden said.

Wind in the hair

At an event in the US auto capital of Detroit, Trump was unusually nostalgic, recalling what he said was the car of his youth growing up as the scion of a New York real estate fortune.

“I had that top down. You see, in those days, I didn’t mind when the hair was blowing. I was going fast and that hair would be waving, that blonde hair,” Trump said.

But the 78-year-old admitted about his trademark locks: “Today I’m a little more careful.”
