Commenting on Pakistan’s efforts to bounce back and secure a favorable result against England after the disappointing defeat in the first Test in Multan, former captain Mohammad Hafeez on Tuesday expressed hope that the plan would work in Pakistan’s favour.
In a post on X, Hafeez said that the Pakistan team was looking for a winning formula in the Test match on a pitch by playing four spinners on a previously used pitch.
“Playing with team management 4 spinners fancy their hopes for a square spinner. Hoping this plan works in favor of Pakistan,” he tweeted.
A square spinner in cricket is the pitch that helps the ball generate a lot of spin with the turn.
The former cricketer shared the list of Pakistani playing XI for the second Test as well.

The Green Shirts had suffered a rather embarrassing defeat by an innings and 47 runs to the visitors in the first Test.
Pakistan then made changes to their 16-man squad by resting senior players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Sarfaraz Ahmed. They have been replaced by young bloods.
The second Test is being played at the Multan Cricket Stadium today, just like the first match, while the third and final match of the series will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 24.
The England team will be led by captain Ben Stokes, who returns from a hamstring injury. The all-rounder missed the entire first five-day Test due to ineligibility.
