Karachi:
Gold prices in Pakistan fell on Tuesday, reflecting losses on the international market, where the yellow metal fell lower, as traders evaluated the pricing developments and expected basic financial data. An important US inflation report continued expectations for interest rate cuts intact, limiting the disadvantage.
According to the Pakistan Association Sarafa Gems and Jewelers, the price of gold per Tola was installed on RS358,300 after a reduction in RS500. The rate for 10 grams was in Rs307,184, below Rs429. On Monday, gold had fallen abruptly by Rs3,600 per Tola, closing in RS358,800.
Adnan agar’s interactive manager said the market remained under pressure due to a combination of geopolitical and economic factors. “Gold has a downward trend, as merchants assimilate data that are largely neutral for precious metal,” he noted.
Agar pointed to speculation before a scheduled summit between the United States and Russia in Alaska on August 15 to discuss the war in Ukraine. “If the meeting leads to a peaceful resolution, it will usually reduce the demand for secure-haven for gold,” he explained.
During the last three to four months, gold has negotiated in a narrow range. Analysts are now expecting to try this range, with two developments being decisive: the outcome of US-Russia talks and the direction of US monetary policy.
While the US Federal Bank maintains interest rates unchanged, markets are watching for a possible cut, with the next policy meeting in September. “Both the summit and the upcoming Fed decisions will be critical for shaping Gold’s next move,” Agar added.
Spot Gold decreased by 0.3% to $ 3,333.68 a ounce at 10:31 am EDT (1431 GMT), according to Reuters. The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.2% last month after a 0.3% increase in June. For 12 months to July, the CPC proceeded 2.7%. Economists asked by Reuters had predicted an increase of 0.2% in July and an increase of 2.8% on an annual basis.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Rupia has expanded its mild profits against the US dollar, estimating 0.01% on the market among banks. The local currency ended on 282.42, up to three Paisa from Monday’s closure at 282.45.
Worldwide, the US dollar negotiated flat in front of a revised consumer inflation report later on the day, which could affect expectations for possible interest rates cuts by the Federal Reserve.
The Australian dollar also maintained a stable hours that led to the Australian Bank’s policy decision. Meanwhile, the US dollar index, which monitors Greenback’s performance against six large coins, including the euro and the yen, remained unchanged at 98,497, after winning 0.5% in the previous two sessions.
