  • Bolsonaro faces the SC test for supposed plot to cling to power.
  • The politician was banned by social media on the duration of the procedures.
  • The US is condemning arrest at home, vow to keep all those responsible.

A Brazilian judge raised former President Jair Bolsonaro under home arrest to violate the ban on social media, escalating a dramatic stamina between the court and the politician, who is accused of planning a coup.

Bolsonaro is in trial in the Supreme Court for allegedly designing power after the loss of 2022 elections to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

President Donald Trump has attempted to punish Brazil, a long -term ally of the US, for what he sees as a “witch hunt” motivation targeting Bolsonaro by imposing eye invoices on Latin America’s largest economy.

The 70 -year -old Bolsonaro is prohibited by social media on the duration of the process and third parties are violated to share his public observations.

But on Sunday, his allies defied the order, sharing the video online with a call between the former army captain and his older son Flavio on a solidarity rally in Rio de Janeiro.

The judge of the Supreme Court, Alexander De Moraes, reacted in a furious way, stating that the judiciary would not allow a defendant to “face as a fool” because of his “political and economic power”.

Criticizing Bolsonaro’s “repetitive failure” to comply with the court’s restrictions on him during the trial, he put him under home restraint at his home in the Brazilian capital.

He also banned the former leader of the country (2019-2022) from taking visitors, in addition to his lawyers, and using mobile phones and warned that any new breach would lead to his detention.

Several cell phones were seized at his home on Monday, police said.

Washington condemned the new restrictions on Monday night, with the office of the Foreign Ministry’s Western Hemisphere office issuing a statement on X.

“Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who has already been approved by the United States for human rights violations, continues to use the Brazilian institutions to silence the opposition and threaten democracy,” the office said. “Let Bolsonaro talk!”

US officials added that “they will” underline all those who cooperate or facilitate penalties. “

The US position was surprised by the political son of Bolsonaro Eduardo Bolsonaro, who had successfully put pressure on Washington to take criminal action against Brazilian in the case.

In a special position, he wrote: “Brazil is no longer a democracy.”

He called Moraes, who is chairing Bolsonaro’s trial and has designed himself a defender of the Brazilian Republic against the far right, a “out -of -control psychopath”.

Last month, Moraes ordered Bolsonaro to wear ankle bracelet and introduced the ban on social media.

Trump replied in an unprecedented way by banning Moraes from the United States and freezing his assets to US banks.

Trump Pressure Campaign

Trump’s pressure campaign angered many Brazilians, but caused him to the Conservative Base of Bolsonaro.

At rallies in Rio, Brazil and Sao Paulo on Sunday, some demonstrators gave us flags or kept signs reading “Thanks Trump”.

Bolsonaro himself did not attend the rallies, after being ordered by the Supreme Court to stay home at night and on weekends throughout the trial.

Prosecutors say he and the seven co-hosts tried to overthrow his 2022 electoral defeat in a plot that failed only because the army did not take the boat.

He faces a 40 -year sentence if he is sentenced to trial, which is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

Bolsonaro supporters put the Brazilian Congress in January 2023 after Lula was inaugurated, suspending the chambers and attacked police in scenes reminiscent of an attack by Trump supporters in the US capital two years ago.

Although banned from running, Bolsonaro hopes to return a return to Trump to the Brazilian presidential election.

Lula, 79, said he could pursue a fourth term, allowing health.

Last year, he was hospitalized for brain bleeding caused by a bathroom.
