ISLAMABAD: The Federal Revenue Council (FBR) is expected to extend the suppression of tax avoidance to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, according to sources encouraging the matter on Monday.
The Board of Directors has issued alerts to jewelers that have not been registered or have not paid inadequate taxes, sources in FBB, they said.
Jewelers in many cities – including Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan – have been issued warnings against non -paid taxes.
FBB officials said that of the 57,000 jewelry shops across the country, only 20,000 were registered.
Of the 20,000 registered jewelry stores, 10,000 have filed their tax returns, they added.
At least 50 jewelry stores in a single market in Islamabad failed to make their tax returns, FBB officials said, reiterating that tax extinction would be firmly addressed.
FBR also invaded a remarkable real estate company in the context of repression and occupied records despite the treatment of resistance, officials said, adding that the seized files would be used to assess the debt tax on the company.
The Board of Directors launched a suppression of potential tax avoidance, after discovering that only 1,100 people have declared a net value of 1 billion Rs, the news said on Sunday.
The suppression of potential tax violations came after a FBB check of last year’s tax returns, revealed that only 1,100 people across the country reported assets worth 1 billion Rs, the publication added.
The FBR has also decided to identify people who are allegedly involved in massive poor configuration of their assets and income.
To suppress, the tax collector has developed 450 IRS inspectors across the country.
Officials will conduct investigations on the ground to verify and control those who have declared significantly less assets and income than in reality.
