Lahore:

A delegation of food exporters from South Punjab returned on Wednesday after completing a successful 10 -day visit to China.

The Federation of Pakistani Chambers of Commerce and the Regional Food Committee (FPCCI) Shahid Imran, who led the delegation, informed the media that the team, consisting of prominent exporters, visited 10 cities throughout China to explore them. During their stay, the delegation participated in business-business meetings and toured basic food markets and processing units.

Shahid Imran noted that Chinese counterparts were impressed with the quality and competitive pricing of Pakistani food products, especially snacks, which had gained popularity in international markets. The delegation also discussed possible corporate relations and consortiums with Chinese companies to boost export volumes and optimize supply chains.

The primary objective of the visit was to present the varied range of Pakistan’s nutritional products, including snacks and processed foods, to potential Chinese buyers and investors.

The delegation expressed the hope that the visit would boost Pakistan’s food exports to China, one of its largest commercial partners, and to open new paths of cooperation to agriculture and food processing. The team highlighted the growing demand for Pakistani food products in China and the need to continue the fulfillment of international standards, while expanding market access. “This successful journey marks an important step towards strengthening the economic links between the two countries,” he observed.

“The two sessions of China will lay a steady foundation for further reinforcement of the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and China,” observed Muhamad Zamir Assadi, a researcher at the China International Press and Communication Center, while talking to the app earlier this week.
