Excited for the Kakul camp, Usman Khan reveals his preferred batting spot

Experienced batsman Usman Khan has expressed his delight at being part of the national cricket team’s gym ahead of the T20 series against New Zealand

Having made waves in the recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, Usman’s outstanding performance saw him score two centuries at an unparalleled average of 107 runs per innings. His contributions were instrumental in guiding Multan Sultans to the final of PSL 9.

Speaking to a local news channel, Usman emphasized his eligibility to play for Pakistan despite residing in the UAE for cricketing purposes. He expressed his burning desire to wear the green jersey and show his talent on the international stage.

“I still hold my Pakistani passport and am eligible to play for the country where I started my cricket career. I have settled in UAE only for cricket reason. It would be nothing less than a dream come true if I continue to represent Pakistan on the international stage in the days to come,” said Usman.

Furthermore, Usman underlined his determination to make the most of every opportunity on the pitch.

“Obviously playing international cricket for the country you live in is what you aim for. Nice to see my name in the gym. Hopefully, the way I batted in PSL 9 where I scored 430 runs in just seven innings with three unbeaten strikes, I would continue to do so for my country if given the opportunity,” he said.

“Whenever and wherever I play, I try to make the most of the opportunity I get. It will be a great honor for me to represent my country at any stage,” he added.

Usman highlighted his adaptability to various roles in cricket, expressing his willingness to contribute as a wicketkeeper and tough batsman for the national team.

“I like to keep wickets apart from batting. I have kept wickets for Multan Sultans with complete success and I might as well do it for my country too if given the chance,” Usman said.

Finally, Usman’s adaptability extends to his batting line-up preferences as well, as he has confirmed his readiness to bat at any position as per the team’s requirements.

“I can bat in any order as I usually believe in taking the game head on. I always try to make the most of my time at the wicket,” he concluded.
