England Wicketkeeper-Batter Sam Billings has left praise to his Prime Minister Batter Babar Azam, who has been signed by Sydney Sixers for the upcoming 15th season of the Big Bash League (BBL).
In a recent interview, Billings greeted Babar as a “king” who recognizes his stature in the world cricket and expressed the excitement for the prospect of seeing the productive feature of the right hand operator in the tournament.
“He is King Babar Azam, as he is called, he is such a world artist for so long, any competition that characterizes a player like Babar Azam benefits not only Sixers, as you said, but the tournament as a whole,” Billings said.
“I have played a lot against him, and I would rather have him on my side rather than against me. I’m definitely looking forward to these Sydney Derbies again,” he added.
The 34 -year -old cricket was a regular feature in the Pakistan of Super League (PSL) since 2022, representing Lahore Qalandars. He also issued the depth of the talent in Pakistan Kokket.
“I have played a lot of psl cricket. The talent they have – the pool of talent – is from the charts,” he noted.
Babar’s signature has already created a buzz in the world of cricket. Former England Captain Michael Vaughan also reacted to the news with a short but painful position on X (formerly Twitter), inviting Babar to sign a “big signature”.
It is advisable to note that Sydney Sixers officially announced Babar’s signature on Friday, marking one of the highest acquisitions in the history of the BBL.
The 30 -year -old hit, which has scored more than 10,000 international routes in figures, is widely regarded as one of the most consistent and productive performers in the world cricket.
According to the BBL regulations, each team is allowed to sign an international player in front of the official BBL 15 plan scheduled for Thursday, June 19th. Sixers capitalized this opportunity to secure Pakistan Maestro services.
A key number on the national side of Pakistan for more than a decade, Babar owned the team in all three forms from 2019 to 2024. Under its leadership, Pakistan reached the semifinals of the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup and ended as runners in the 2022 edition.
Dividing his enthusiasm in a video message released by the franchise, the former governor expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Sixers and playing alongside Australia’s big big ones.
“Hey Guys, Super Pumped to join Sydney Sixers. I can’t wait to share the dressing room with my favorite stroke, Steve Smith and world -class Bowler, Josh Hazlewood,” Babar said.
“I always liked playing in Australia, but making my BBL debut will be something special. So I’m really excited and looking forward to getting there and meeting my cricket fans,” he added.
