Emilia Pérez drives a record of 13 nominations

Oscar 2025 nominations were driven by Emilia Pérez, who secured 13 nominations, placing it between classics, as it left with the wind and Mary Poppins, as well as modern hits such as Oppenheimer and the shape of water.

Netflix’s Spanish Crime Drama has won nods in multiple categories, such as the best image, the best original song (for two different tracks) and nominations for Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña.

Initially he was considered a pioneer for the best image, Emilia Pérez faced reactions after past racist and aggressive tweets by Gascón reappeared. The actor – the first open actor to be appointed – broke on a public tour, but the controversy only deepens.
