In a recent turn of events, YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, addressed the rumors doing the rounds about his alleged entry into politics. She took to Instagram to share a video, setting the record straight with the misleading claims that have sparked a wave of misinformation.
In his Instagram video, Ducky Bhai strongly rubbished the rumors and expressed his dismay at the spread of fake news. It started by recognizing the viral nature of misinformation, recognizing the thousands of likes and shares the post garnered in a short period of time.
Facing the possible consequences of such misleading information, Ducky Bai revealed the sad reality of receiving death threats against him and his family. Visibly disappointed, he emphasized that the purpose of his video was solely to clarify his position. He stated, “A fake news is doing the rounds recently that I have entered politics. Okay, you spread that news and got your 20,000 likes within an hour on Instagram and 6,000 on Twitter. You had your fun and your fun. But you know what what kind of death threats are me and my family getting because of this fake news?’
Ducky Bhai emphasized that he has been a YouTuber for the past seven years and continues to be dedicated to his craft. He categorically stated that he never showed any interest in politics throughout his career, neither discussing nor declaring any inclination towards it with his audience.
The YouTube sensation pointed out the misinterpretation of a screenshot taken out of context from a video. He expressed his dismay at the irresponsible dissemination of such news by prominent magazines and Twitter accounts. Ducky Bai clarified that he occasionally meets politicians out of respect for invitations, but this does not translate into a political career.
“The purpose of this video is just to clarify that for the past seven years I have been a YouTuber and still am,” Ducky Bhai remarked. And he continued, “And, maybe, for the next 10-15 years, I will continue to be a YouTuber. I have never shown an interest in politics during my career to my audience, nor have I mentioned politics to such an extent. I meet many politicians because they call us with respect and we go with respect. By taking an out-of-frame screenshot from a video, huge magazines and Twitter accounts have spread the word that I entered politics.”
In an appeal to his followers, Ducky Bai urged them to debunk fake news if they come across such posts. “The purpose of this video is to highlight that this is fake news. And if you come across posts like this, kindly comment below saying it’s fake news. Because if my video doesn’t reach them, maybe your comment will.” he asked.
