Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn will eventually install their bitter rivalry in a middleweight showdown at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, April 26th. The long -term struggle, years in production, reflects a legendary family dispute that began with their fathers in the 1990s.
The race marks the third major boxing event on Tottenham’s territory, following Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr usyk and Tyson Fury against Derek Chisora.
Eubank Jr and Benn are expected to take their walks around 9.45pm BST, with Undercard coverage from 5 pm Bst.
Eubank Jr, 35 years old, enters a record of 34 wins, 3 losses and 25 knockouts. Benn, 28, is undefeated in 23 matches with 14 knockouts. The race will be challenged at a Middleweight 11th 6lbs threshold and a moisturizing clause reduces weight gain after weigh-in.
Although no official title is at stake, Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s general entertainment, said a victory could win Victor a shot in Canelo Alvarez. WBC has supported this feature.
“This rivalry has history, drama and potential for a career’s result,” WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said.
The Eubank-Benn controversy began with Chris Eubank SR’s ninth TKO round over Nigel Benn in 1990 and a 1993 rematch.
The sons were first set up to fight in 2022, but the race was canceled after Benn to have a positive test for Clomiphene. A series of appeals followed, and Benn was eventually cleared to fight in late 2024.
Their rivalry was rekindled in February 2025, when Eubank Jr slapped Benn with an egg during a press event, mocking WBC’s previous claim that egg contamination could have caused positive tests by Benn.
At Undercard, Anthony Yarde faces Lyndon Arthur in their trilogy, while Chris Billam-Smith meets Brandon Glanton in a Cruiserweight competition. Liam Smith takes over Aaron McKenna and Viddal Riley faces Cheavon Clarke.
Tensions remain high ahead of Saturday. Benn has promised to retire from Eubank Jr, saying personal hostility: “There are reasons why I can’t talk. I don’t like him.”
