A chilling video recorded by a passerby showed a famous drug dealer on social media lying face down in the middle of a street in Santiago on Tuesday morning after being shot by a masked assailant.
Sabrina Durán, 24, known as the “TikTok Narco Queen”, was on her way to a nail salon when she was stopped by three men in the city of Padre Hurtado, Santiago, Chilean news agencies reported.
In the video, Duran, who was a mother of one, can already be seen lying on the ground trying to get up when a gunman steps forward and fires multiple shots before using her vehicle to escape. Daily Mail mentionted.
Chilean police have not released a motive for the gruesome killing, but people familiar with the investigation say it is related to “settling scores.”
No additional information was given about who or why. However, authorities discovered that Durán’s car had been set on fire in the town of Quilicura.
“We are expanding the scope of the investigation to see if there are more motives (factors),” police chief Leonel Muñoz told reporters.
In 2022, Durán was arrested for drug trafficking and sentenced to three years. She tried to escape by jumping from the third floor with other inmates before she was arrested.
Durán has amassed more than 467,000 followers on TikTok, where she has been promoting beauty products since 2021.
On Monday, she uploaded a video reviewing items she has received from DCM Cosmetic. The owner of the cosmetics company Chanel Morales said LUN newspaper that he looked past Duran’s troubled background.
“I looked at her because she has a lot of followers,” Morales said.
“She was getting a lot of attention on TikTok for being the Narco Queen, a bad girl, but her looks and voice suggested otherwise.
“She was very sweet. She loved supporting virtual small and medium-sized companies.”
