SHANGHAI:
The Chinese car industry Chery on Saturday denied claims that it had requested inappropriate government subsidies for environmentally friendly vehicles.
Control by the Ministry of IT and IT technology ruled Chery and BYD statements for combined state subsidies of $ 53 million for thousands of vehicles sold in five years by 2020, representing almost 60% of inappropriate claims.
Chery denied that her statements were inappropriate. He said in a statement that he had previously consulted authorities on the challenges of missing evidence that cars were sold more than five years ago and that the government had advised the company to declare cars for the ministry to find out if they should be qualified.
“Our company has honestly reported to the authorities where we did not collect certificates for final sales, there is no fraudulent act,” Chery told the statement.
Government’s claims do not include allegations of fraud. EV Maker Byd did not respond to comments for comments. The audit, which began earlier this year to verify subsidy applications during the five -year period, was excluded from 21,725 subsidy vehicles, as it found divergences, such as the inability to submit required support documents or to fulfill the limits of the mileage, according to the documents.
Chery had 7,663 vehicles blocked. 19 for kilometers and 7,643 for failure to provide certificates. The audit documents did not put any penalty nor report refund. The government has said in the past that automakers should repay the subsidies for vehicles found to have not met the demands of the kilometers.
Chery said the audit covered statements for subsidies that were not prepaid and therefore the automakers did not have to return.
