Britney Spears drops video with ex Sam Asghari, candidly reflects on love and loss

Britney Spears has shared a video with ex-husband Sam Asghari as they approach the one-year anniversary of their heartbreaking split just 14 months after marriage.

In the caption of the since-deleted video, the Toxic The singer reflected on love and loss as she talked about her past relationship and protecting herself from the mistakes she made.

The video showed a shirtless Asghari dancing with the pop star. “The time he took me,” she captioned the video.

“It’s weird because there are always weird turns for relationships with your friends, family or loved ones on any journey you take with someone!!!” Spears added. “Looking back is hard sometimes, but it’s honestly important … honestly very sensitive in most cases.”

He went on to add, “I talk about my past sometimes because I want to protect myself from making the same mistakes as before!!! What I usually do if I’m going through too much is shut down, but sometimes I lose the ability to understand what’s going on or how I’m feeling not at all!!!”

“Sometimes I’m afraid to feel anything because I know I’m very sensitive. Being numb is the worst, I think, but there’s a safety in that cause I feel like I’m subconsciously protecting myself from feeling any significance!! It’s hard because this is what people can benefit from.

The pop princess, who first met Asghari while filming the music video for her song Slumber Party in 2016, further shared how it was “much easier” when she was younger and “trusted people more” because she didn’t yet have experience the “cruelty of the world”.

“I miss being vulnerable and open with people,” she wrote in her lengthy caption. “If you know me, you know how I love… I love so much it’s embarrassing and I will love you for life!!!”

Without naming names, Spears continued, “I was told over and over by someone I loved that I don’t look at that face of yours. My hopes in sharing this is that I remember that I can try and figure out why I never feel good enough and for to know it’s okay to get into my brain, try to figure it out.”
