Brignone will give her everything to be ready for winter Olympics

Brignone will give her everything to be ready for winter Olympics

World Cup champion Federica Brignone, who suffered a terror injury at the end of last season, does not know if he will be able to ski this winter, but the Italian wants to “give it all” to compete in the 2026 winter Olympics at home.

The 35 -year -old also admitted that he did not know if he would walk again after having a double left leg in the Italian leagues that ends in April.

“I don’t know if I will be able to compete this season or not. I don’t have the answer,” she said during a press conference at its skiing equipment in the French city of Saint-Jean-de-moiirans on Thursday.

“I’ll give it all, but I’m not ready to ski,” added the Italian, who dominated last season, winning the overall World Cup title and both the downhill and giant slalom categories before the accident.

“Given the seriousness of the accident, it wasn’t even sure that I could ever ski or walk right back in my life. So what I do is already good.

“But my goal is higher. I want to do what I love again, to be 100 % skier.”

Brignone, who also won the giant world title Slalom this year, underwent a second business at the end of July to accelerate its recovery, but there is still a long way to go back to snow.

“I tried to run, for example, but I can’t last 10 minutes,” he admitted.

“It doesn’t go through a day without being a pain.

“Taking into account what I have gone through, I am already back on a good level. But to be an athlete who wants to compete at the Olympics, I’m not there yet.

“But I work too hard to get back.”

Even if she gets to Milan-Kortina games in just four months, Brignone will be far from her best.

“I’ll give it all because I don’t want to have any regrets, but it is already clear that it will be completely different (compared to last winter) and I have to accept it,” said Brignone, who has never won an Olympic gold medal, with two bronze and one silver.

“But I don’t need the Olympics. What I’ve done in my career is already much more than I ever dreamed of.

“I don’t have to be at the Olympics to see who I am and what I have done in this sport.”
