Brendan Fraser became emotional when he and director Hikari received a permanent spawning at the Toronto International Film Festival for Rental family.
Rental Following is an American actor who goes to Japan in the hope of securing his long break. After that it doesn’t work, he undertakes a job in a service that hires actors to stand-in roles for their customers. So he depicts a “sad American” acquaintance in a false funeral for a man who needed a push, as well as returning as the absence of daddy of a young girl and more roles.
Fraser praised the story of the film, inspired by director Hikari’s experience coming to America and making friends.
The mummy Star recalled that he met her to discuss the film at a meeting that continued for 6-8 hours.
“I learned about her life, about her ambitions, her interests, her unique experience coming to America and what she meant about the family we find and are not necessarily the one we are born sometimes,” Fraser said.
“I was embarrassed and mysterious and refreshing in all the best ways to meet Hikari. And then …”
He continued, “Hi, I knew this story is unique. It’s something we need to see on the screen.”
“And fix me if I’m wrong. I think we need to see this movie now more than ever these days,” he noticed.
Hikari then recalled the transition to America, saying: “I came to America when I was 17 for the first time and landed in Utah,” the beef manager said.
“This was my first place to learn English. I was the only Asian girl in the whole city, I felt like …. I had to learn English and had to learn culture.”
So, for me, bringing someone – American – to Tokyo, what does it look like? Because there are many things you learn when you are the only person in the room. ”
Rental family will succumb to theaters on November 21st and also Starshiro Hira, Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Gorman and Akira Emoto.
