Rajeev Shukla, the chairman of the Cricket Control Council (BCCI), praised Pakistan Cricket (PCB) for the successful organization of Trophy champion, calling the event a successful success.
Shukla traveled to Pakistan to attend the second semifinal of ICC Champions Trophy between New Zealand and South Africa at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.
He was united with heads and senior officials from Cricket Councils of South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, all of them invited by the PCB to the event.
According to PCB, five representatives of different cricket boards were present in the knockout match. Among them were Shukla (BCCI), Roger Twose (New Zealand cricket), Farooq Ahmed (Board Bargladesh Cricket) and Pholetsi Isaac Moseki and Dr. Mohammed Moosajee from South African cricket.

The leaders of the cricket boards also took the opportunity to thank Naqvi for the excellent arrangements and hospitality during the Champions Trophy. As an assessment sample, Shukla presented Naqvi with a copy of his book.
During his visit, Shukla turned to the media and reiterated that while people may propose races between Pakistan and India, the Indian Council policy remains clear: “The bilateral series will be played in our respective countries”.
He issued the Trophy Champions organization, stating: “The ICC Champions Trophy has been organized very well in Pakistan. It is an international event of great importance and was successful.”
Concerning the Asia Cup, Shukla confirmed that it had already been decided that Pakistan’s Games would take place in a neutral space.
Shukla’s visit is of particular importance, as BCCI had refused to send the Indian men’s team to Pakistan for Trophy Champions, citing Indian government guidelines. This decision had led to extensive negotiations between BCCI and PCB on hosting arrangements.
These discussions led to the “hybrid formula”, a compromise proposed by PCB. The press stipulates that for the next three years, when India or Pakistan hosts multi -point tournaments, the struggles between the two countries will take place in neutral spaces.
While official discussions between the BCCI and the PCB were not reported during Shukla’s visit, his presence in Lahore is regarded as a step towards improving cricket relationships between neighboring countries.
