Pakistan Vision was one of the winners, placing Pakistan at the forefront of global recognition for social transformation and climate design.

Vision Pakistan in Islamabad, by DB Studios, is a block of flats that has happy facades inspired by Pakistani and Arabic boats, while hosting a charity that aims to strengthen the disadvantaged young people through occupational training.

The jury noted that the building does not only contain a new kind of education, but is full of light, spatial interest and economically effective.

Founded by its delayed highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV in 1977, the AGA Khan Award is unique among the awards.

It promotes projects that not only demonstrate the excellence of design but also improve the quality of life and considers the contribution of municipalities, builders, customers, basic craftsmen and engineers alongside architects.

Since its establishment, the award has recognized more than 130 projects worldwide, influenced the worldwide reason for architecture in the Muslim world and beyond.

His highness, Aga Khan processed the importance of this pursuit: “Today, with the climate more unstable than ever, architects have great responsibility and an opportunity to use their creativity to design buildings that will eliminate this instability and protect us all – and especially the most vulnerable -“.

“This quality – the flexibility against the unexpected – was at the heart of the jury’s concerns in this prize cycle.”

In addition to environmental justice, the structured environment is well positioned to help resolve social justice issues,

His highness explained to his address: “It is no exaggeration to say that the economic accessibility of housing, ease of access to green space, education, health and cultural heritage of all hinges for the creativity of our architects and the wisdom of our citizens.”

Buildings, he added, have the power to increase the standard of living, to inspire respect and solve problems for future generations.

“Great architecture,” he continued to say, “has the power to respond immediately to the most acute development challenges and to create the comprehensive, safe, decent world we want for everyone.” Earlier on the day, its highness also attended a special seal cancellation ceremony, in which the Kyrgyz postal service issued a specially designed postal mission stamp to honor this year’s Bishkek awards ceremony.
